The OAK Study is a child health research study led by the Liggins Institute, University of Auckland. The study is investigating whether a specific dietary supplement (called a human milk oligosaccharide, or HMO) may help support gut health (microbiome) in children who are prescribed oral antibiotics.
We are inviting Auckland parents of well children aged up to 23 months to register an expression of interest. Children may be eligible to take part if they are prescribed oral antibiotics between 12 and 24 months of age.
A member of the research team will contact you to explain the study and answer questions. There is no obligation to take part, and your child will not be enrolled at this stage.
Privacy and expectations
Registering your interest does not enrol your child, and you may withdraw your interest at any time. The information you provide will be used only to contact you with details about the study and to answer your questions. Your data will be stored securely and handled in accordance with the University of Auckland Privacy Policy.
