Students applying under the Discretionary Hardship category for UTAS, must be able to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Selection Committee:
- that failure to meet the minimum LawGPA for 2026 is attributable to exceptional, unforeseen circumstances beyond their control, independently verified by appropriate evidence; and
- that undue hardship would result if they were not admitted to LLB Part II at the University of Auckland.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered under the Discretionary Hardship Admission Scheme, you must:
- Complete the online general Application for Admission into LLB Part II via SSO by 1st December 2025.
- Meet the LLB Part II Eligibility Criteria
- Submit this form, together with your supporting document(s) by 10th October 2025.
Evidence Requirements
You must provide supporting evidence as outlined below:
- A Cover Letter describing the nature and timeframe of your exceptional circumstances, along with a clear explanation of how these circumstances have impacted your academic performance
- Evidence from an independent professional advisor such as a doctor or counsellor which verifies the information provided in your cover letter.
