Undergraduate Targeted Admission Scheme GPA Variation for LLB Part II

A GPA Variation allows the Selection Committee to consider whether courses affected by exceptional circumstances should be excluded from your Law GPA calculation and whether eligible courses completed in the previous academic year should be used instead.

Students applying under the GPA Variation category for UTAS must demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Selection Committee that:

their best most recent academic results do not accurately reflect their academic ability due to exceptional, unforeseen circumstances beyond their control, independently verified by appropriate evidence; and
the courses they have requested be excluded from their Law GPA were materially affected by those circumstances.

Please note

A GPA Variation does not exempt you from the minimum academic requirements for admission to LLB Part II.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered you must:

Complete the online general Application for Admission into LLB Part II via SSO by 1 December 2026.
Meet the LLB Part II Eligibility Criteria
Submit this form, together with your supporting document(s) by 2 October 2026.

Evidence Requirements

You must provide supporting evidence as outlined below:

A Cover Letter describing the nature and timeframe of your exceptional circumstances, along with a clear explanation of how these circumstances have impacted your academic performance
Evidence from an independent professional advisor such as a doctor or counsellor which verifies the information provided in your cover letter.

Please ensure your documents are clearly labelled before uploading them at the end of this form.

Should your exam preparation and/or performance be impacted by extenuating or unforeseen circumstances, please apply for Aegrotat/Compassionate Consideration.
